what we do

The humble “Mayapur, Clean & Green Team” can afford only 3 workers and 1 supervisor right now. They are currently covering an area of approximately 5 kilometers around Mayapur Dham (Bhaktisiddhanta Road, Taranpur Road, and some River Ghats: Hular Ghat, Taranpur, Ghat, Mayapur Ghat), but still there is much more to clean… To make a real Impact, we need: 

  1. We need at least 100 full time workers collecting garbage,
  2. MOST IMPORTANT: MASSIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR the children, who can actually learn new good habits and also teach to their parents.
  3. We need to put trash cans for dry waste every 50 meters. (at every neighborhood, at every colony, along the road, at the banks of the rivers: Ganga and Jalangi, inside the boats).
  4. We need to educate the people how to use the trash cans (segregation at source).
  5. We need to build a suitable deposit and Eco -Center for education and collection of different kinds of waste.
  6. Find and consolidate spaces to plant trees and sow clean pasture for the cows. 
  7. Ideally we would like to Install a plastic recycling factory (Rs 1 Crore).

MISSION

   “To protect and restore areas of ecological and cultural significance, such as Mayapur, West Bengal—a region celebrated for its spiritual heritage and biodiversity. Through sustainable initiatives that preserve natural ecosystems, empower local communities, and honour cultural traditions, we aim to create lasting positive impacts for generations to come. Together, we are shaping a future where nature and culture thrive in harmony”.

Short term plans: 

  1. Open a community service store to promote our social good activities mentioned above.
  2. Start the production of crafts with recyclable materials.
  3. Buy land to develop a Villa, an exemplary model of simple life respectful of the Holy Dham.
  4. Promote the declaration of Sri Mayapur Dham as a cultural heritage of humanity.
  5. Be able to sponsor Visas for our team members.
  6. Create ties of cooperation with local, state and national governments to:
  7. Installation of compostable toilets connected to the sustainable production of energy and biogas.
  8. Daily cleaning of all the streets of Sridham Mayapur and gradually of all the surrounding Villas.
  9. Obtaining more efficient means of transportation for the waste generated: recyclable and compostable.
  10. Use of Government land for solid waste treatment.
  11. Use of Government land for tree plantation.
  12. Local community service centers: Second-hand items, gardening, nurseries, etc.

Medium term plans: 

  1. Perfect large-scale compost and natural fertilizer production methods that help reduce the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
  2. Develop a non-compostable solid waste recycling plant.
  3. Produce fuel from recyclable plastic.
  4. Design of an Ecological Village Model of simple and respectful life of the Holy Dham.
  5. Consolidate cooperation ties with the local, state and national government to optimize our activities aimed at the common good.
  6. Create a multidisciplinary workshop to promote local artisan production.

Long term plans: 

  1. Development and consolidation of an Ecological Village Model of simple and respectful life of the Holy Dham that serves as a model to be replicated in West Bengal, India and other places in the world.
  2. Improve biodiversity at Sri Mayapur Dham.
